SOPHIE HORSEMAN

Sophie is a passionate, fully qualified teacher who possesses a Higher National Diploma in Professional Stage Dance with The MGA Academy. She’s also a member of The National Association of Teachers of Dancing in which she holds a Diploma in Contemporary Dance as well as Gymnastics Dance (ongoing). Through this she can offer graded examinations and is proud to be the only teacher in the area to offer these.  Sophie has taught for many companies since becoming qualified in 2016 including Studio A, Enchanted Entertainments, Carlisle United Community, All Steps First Dance, First Dance UK, Bounce Studios and as a freelance teacher in local schools and groups. Through her professional training in Edinburgh and performance experience she has made contacts all over the UK which has led to her organising workshops with prestigious practitioners such as Brendon Hansford (Pineapple Dance Studios) and Jade Heusen (Birmingham Royal Ballet). She will continue to offer these great opportunities to her students.

DEMI WILDEY

Demi Wildey trained at the Lucie Benson School of Dance in London and went on to further her training at the BRIT school of performing arts in Croydon graduating with a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts (Dance). 
She has performed in numerous dance showcases at the BRIT school, Obie Theatre and has performed in shows in Fairfield Halls Croydon, The Greenwich Theatre London, The Shaw Theatre In London & The Bloomsbury Theatre London. She was also a Dancer in 'Cinderella' at the Harlequin Theatre & was cast in various music videos.

ABBY WALKER

Abby has been dancing since she was 3 years old and has gained experience in a range of styles some include Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Heels and Lyrical dance. She has passed a range of graded exams and is a pro when it comes to performances and shows. Abby has always been passionate about dance and working with children. She is an active and crucial member of the Northern Heights team assisting with our Tinies, Minis and Juniors classes. Abby will be undergoing her professional training while with us at Northern Heights.

MEGAN BEATTIE

Megan graduated as a professional performer in 2019 and since, has worked as a professional performer appearing in various shows and pantomimes, the wizard of oz, and snow white and the seven dwarfs in which she also took on the role of dance captain - where she unveiled that she enjoyed this role and would like to further her teaching role and qualifications.

 

Megan then went on to work as a professional dancer with talent artistic group working with TUI Sensatori in Antalya, Turkey. Here, she worked as a professional dancer and aerialist as well as a children’s entertainer.

 

Since the pandemic in 2020, Megan has worked as a freelance teacher and choreographer, taking a further approach into the teaching side of the industry and has since held online classes and workshops, delivering classes and workshops for dance schools far and wide, recently delivering an intensive Cruise ship style audition workshop for carlisle college of the performing arts and working as a guest teacher for rhythm nation associates cumbria. 

 

Megan has now been dancing for 21 years, professionally for 5 and has been teaching for 6. She is a qualified teacher through the IDTA, in which she received a distinction in this exam with a pass mark of 96/100.

 

Megan is very excited to be joining the team at Northern Heights from September and can't wait to meet you all!
